Why does a contact say "No Contact"?

Question

  • Why do I have contacts that are named "No Contact" in my CRM (fka Luxor) environment?

Answer

You may come across one or more contacts in your CRM (fka Luxor) database that say No Contact. These can show in your contacts list or within the Contacts tab of a job. No Contact appears when there is a Company/Organization where the CRM software expects a Contact. These primarily occur when you have the CRM / DASH  sync enabled. It creates the Contact as a placeholder for the Auditor to identify. This can happen with External Participants and the Referred By field.

No Contact will appear for one of the reasons below:

  • Check to see if the job in DASH had a Referred By contact (or any other external contact) that is a Company (aka Organization) and not an individual contact. No Contact will appear if you put a Company where a Contact should go. This is by design since you don't have businesses/buildings refer you, you have people within the businesses refer you.
  • Check to see if the Referred By is a contact type = "Customer" See the previous bullet point for why Companies show as No Contact. Customer Contacts are anonymized and converted to Companies when they enter CRM to prevent them from clogging up your Contact module and interfering with marketing views.
  • Lastly, if an employee is put as a Referred By, that can create a No Contact.
