- Unable to move an opportunity to the next stage in the sales cycle
Answer
There are two main reasons that one might not be able to advance an opportunity to the next stage of a Sales Cycle:
- Some stages have required fields that must be filled out in order to move an Opportunity from or to the next stage. Check to ensure that you have filled out those required fields.
- Some stages may restrict who can move an opportunity from or to the next stage. Check with your administrator for more information. They will need to confirm that you have the appropriate security group that corresponds to that sales cycle stage. You can see what those security groups are by following the steps below:
- Navigate to Admin > Opportunity Sales Cycle
- Locate the Sales Cycle that the opportunity is associated with and click on "Open Sales Cycle"
- Locate the stage you are having issues with and click "Details"
- Check which security groups are allowed to advance the stage. You may also want to check the next stage in the sales cycle as well.
- Finally, you will need to confirm that your user profile is associated with those particular Security Groups. You can check this under Admin > User Management.
