“Employee pay rates and accounting settings for the user location must be set up to save a timesheet“ error when saving a Timesheet

Issue

  • Error received when saving a Timesheet
  • "Employee pay rates and accounting settings for the user location must be set up to save a timesheet" error when adding new timesheets for employee

Solution

This error is typically caused by one of two issues:

  1. The employee/user does not have their "Payroll Details" information filled out on their profile in DASH
    1. Navigate to Administration > Employee and locate the employee’s profile
    2. Scroll down to the bottom of their profile to the Payroll Details section
    3. Make sure they have Regular Time, Over Time, Double Time filled out

  2. Is the activity code being used as a custom activity code? If so, make sure that the employee has custom rates added to it.
    1. Check to see if it is a custom activity code by navigating to the activity code section under Timesheets > Activity Codes.
    2. Check to see if it’s a custom activity code. If so, navigate to Administration > Employee
    3. Locate the employee’s profile and go down to the “Update Custom Activity Code Pay Rates” button
    4. Find the custom activity code in the list and make sure the employee has all the info filled out.
