Progress notifications for Compliance Tasks

Question

  • How can I add a notification reminder for compliance tasks?
  • Can DASH send me a heads-up notification before a compliance task is due?

Answer

Tip

If you want to mass reassign/apply progress notifications on existing Workflows, see this article for more information - Mass edit Progress Notifications for existing Workflows

Progress notifications can be set to fire at a specific time before or after the Action Item is required to be completed. Keep in mind that these notifications are not action items to be completed; they simply email reminders for the action items that have not been completed.

To create a new Progress Notification, follow these steps:

  1. Click the View [0] link under the Notifications column, next to the desired template.
  2. Click Add New Progress Notification.
  3. Enter the Notification Text. This text is what the Employee/Participant will see in their email and should outline why they are receiving the notification. For example, if you want to notify the recipient that there have 10 minutes remaining before a task is due, this is where you would express that reminder.
  4. Select the Assigned To Type and Assigned To for the Employee or Participant receiving this notification.
  5. There can only be one recipient per Progress Notification. If you want multiple Employees or Monitors to receive Progress Notifications, you will need to create a new notification for each additional Employee/Monitor.
  6. Enter the amount of allotted time for this notification to fire in the When Action Item not Completed field, and choose a unit of time from the drop-down menu (Minutes, Hours, Days, Weeks).
  7. Choose if you want the notification to be sent Before or After the workflow task is due from the "Action is due" menu.
  8. Choose a Recurrence time frame.
  9. Note: The email notification will only be sent one time. The Recurrence is functionality that has been
phased out but is currently still a required field.
  10. Select a Notification Severity of High, Medium, or Normal.
  11. Make sure to check the Email Notification* option. This is the only option currently available to fire out Progress Notifications.
  12. Click Save
