Documents and PDFs are not opening

Issue

  • Unable to open PDFs in DASH from job documents
  • PDFs are not opening up or downloading from DASH
  • DASH generates a blank tab when attempting to open PDFs

Solution

Normally, if DASH fails to open PDFs or opens them in a blank tab, the issue may be related to your Adobe Acrobat browser extension in Chrome or Firefox. To resolve this, you should disable Adobe Acrobat in your browser and attempt to open the PDFs again.

Google Chrome:

  1. Open Google Chrome.
  2. In the top-right corner, click on the three vertical dots to open the menu.
  3. Hover over "Extensions", then click on "Manage Extensions" from the submenu.
  4. A new tab will open, showing a list of installed extensions.
  5. Locate the Adobe Acrobat extension.
  6. Toggle the switch next to the extension to disable it. The switch should turn gray.

Mozilla Firefox:

  1. Open Mozilla Firefox.
  2. Click on the three horizontal lines in the top-right corner to open the menu.
  3. Select "Add-ons" from the menu.
  4. In the Add-ons Manager tab, click on "Extensions" on the left sidebar.
  5. Find the Adobe Acrobat extension in the list.
  6. Click the toggle switch next to the extension to disable it. The switch should move to the left.

After disabling the Adobe Acrobat extension, try opening the PDFs in DASH again to see if the issue is resolved. If needed, you can re-enable the extension following the same steps.
