Question
- How can I move another user/employee under me in the User Management hierarchy tree?
- How can I change a users group in the User Management screen?
- How do I make another user subordinate to my profile?
Answer
The structure of the User Management tree in the CRM (formerly known as Luxor) plays a crucial role in dictating several system functionalities:
- Visibility in Reports: If an employee is positioned higher or at the same level as another user within this hierarchy, they will be unable to view that user in specific reports.
- Permissions Based on Hierarchical Position: Your placement within the system relative to others influences your access rights. The Permissions settings (see image below) define the extent to which a user can view, edit, or delete information pertaining to those ranked below them (subordinates) or those who are at an equivalent level in the hierarchy.
Do you have DASH sync enabled?
The process for adjusting a user's position in the User Management hierarchy tree depends on whether your system integrates with DASH. You can identify the presence or absence of this integration as follows:
- DASH Sync is Enabled: If there's an integration between your CRM and DASH environment, the User Management hierarchy tree (found under Admin > User Management) will feature a list of job titles, similar to the example shown below.
- DASH Sync is Not Enabled: If you do not have an integration between your CRM environment and a DASH environment, the User Management section (Admin > User Management) in the hierarchy tree will not display job titles. Instead, it will simply show a list of users.
Moving a user in the hierarchy tree (with DASH sync)
- Does your company sync with DASH: Refer to the previously mentioned section, "Do You Have DASH Sync Enabled?", to determine which method of user movement is relevant to your system.
- Want to change a Group that a user belongs to? The groups you observe in CRM correspond to job titles from DASH. To reassign a user to a different Group/Title, access their profile in DASH and modify their job title.
- Moving a user under another user (making them a subordinate):
- Find the user's job title group under the User Management page and click to expand it. Locate the user that you want to move under another user.
- Click on the user's name to open their profile.
- After clicking on their profile you will notice this icon appear above the list of job titles, click on the icon with four arrows.
- Select a user from the list who will act as the superior to the user being moved.
Moving a user in the hierarchy tree (without DASH sync)

- After clicking on their profile you will notice this icon appear above the list of job titles, click on the icon with four arrows.
