Editing room damage information

Question

  • How can I add damage information to a room in Mitigate?
  • How can I edit the affected room (floor, wall, ceiling) area?
  • How can I edit the damage category or class for a room?

Answer

Cat & Class

Category = Category is defined for each room that is added to the chamber. Once the Category has been defined for each room of the chamber, Mitigate automatically populates the appropriate Category for the chamber as a whole.

Class = Class can be edited at the chamber level only. You may notice when editing a room’s damage information, the Class is automatically calculated for that room and cannot be edited. If you wish to change the auto calculated Class at the chamber level, you can. If you set the Class manually, then edit the damage information for a room, you will be prompted if the Class does not match your damage information.

Follow the steps outlined below to edit a room's damage information, affected room area, or category.

  1. Navigate to the loss within Mitigate mobile
  2. Under the Snapshot view of the loss, scroll down to Project Layout
  3. Click Edit next to Project Layout
  4. Select the relevant Drying Chamber
  5. Once you locate the desired Drying Chamber and Room within the drying chamber, you can access the room dimensions by tapping the Add Dimensions button underneath the room (see image below).
  6. Select the Damage Information tab
  7. From this screen, you can:

    1. Define affected area (floor, wall, ceiling) of each surface by percentage or by size of the affected area
    2. Add a photo of the damage
    3. Add a note regarding the damage
    4. Further down on this screen, you can select the option to indicate that primarily lower wall area is affected (4)
      • NOTE: Selecting this option will change the method used for suggesting air mover quantities. By default, the application will use the ANSI/IICRC S500 method of Square Feet. If this box is selected, the alternate S500 method of Linear Feet of Wall Affected will be used.
  8. Scroll further down this screen to view options for defining if the area has affected primarily low porosity materials (A). NOTE: Selecting this option will default the Drying Chamber’s Class selection to Class 4.

  9. At the bottom of the screen (you may need to scroll down to see this portion), you can view the selected Class (auto set based on your selections), set the Category of Water (B) and indicate if Other Hazards are present (C).
