Custom report filters are not working

Issue

  • My filters are not working
  • I have filters added but my results are not what I was expecting

Solution(s)

Please check all of these common causes below to ensure that your report filters are set up correctly:

Are your expressions spelled correctly?

  • When you add filter expressions, you will want to make sure that you have spelled any of your filters correctly
  • Example: job status not spelled correctly ("Invoice Pnding" instead of "Invoice Pending")

Are you having issues saving filters? If you notice that you are adding filters but they are not sticking/saving, make sure that you are adding them from the Edit screen. See this article for more information on static vs dynamic filters - Static vs dynamic filters in DASH

Is your operator logic correct? Are you using any conflicting filters? Read through your logic statement within the filters section and confirm that the logic makes sense. See this article for more information about filter logic - Filter logic for custom reports

Is your expression logic correct? Double check that the expression logic fits what you want to see in your report. For example, this expression logic doesn't make sense since you cannot have data where Job Status is "GreaterThan" Invoice Pending. Expression logic statements like "GreaterThan" or "Between" are best used for numerical data like Invoice $ amount or job dates.
