Issue
- Unable to upload your estimate and are receiving this error message: “The estimate being uploaded is missing Recap by Category, which is required for parsing“
Solution
- First, go to the estimate within Xactimate and try regenerating/re-exporting it. When you are generating the estimate PDF, make sure that “Recap by Category” is selected under the "Print Options". See the image below as an example. Make sure that all "Print Options" are checked and none of the "Additional Options" are selected. Try to re-upload the estimate again within your DASH environment. NOTE: if your print options do not look like the image below, it is possibly because the estimate profile you are in does not have those options. Skip to step #3.
- If step 1 does not resolve the error message, go back into the estimate in Xactimate and regenerate the estimate PDF. This time, hit "Export" instead of "Print" to save the PDF.
- If both steps 1 and 2 did not resolve your error message, duplicate the project (in Xactimate) into a Carrier or Contractor profile and try re-generating/re-exporting the Estimate and then re-upload it into your DASH environment.
