Issue
- "This estimate is not in the proper format to be uploaded to the job..." error received after uploading a Rough Draft or Dash Data estimate in Restoration DASH™
- Error when uploading estimate into DASH
Solution
This error is typically caused by either a format discrepancy or an empty estimate
Format Discrepancy
You may be experiencing this error because the PDF you are uploading is not in the required Rough Draft format, or you have selected the wrong type during the DASH upload process (e.g., selecting "Normal XML PDF" for a Rough Draft file).
- When exporting from Xactimate, ensure the file is a Rough Draft.
- When uploading to DASH, ensure the "Estimate PDF Type" selection corresponds exactly to the export, meaning you must choose "Rough Draft PDF".
Empty Estimate Data
If the estimate file contains no line items (resulting in a $0 estimate), the system may fail to process the upload of a Rough Draft or Dash Data PDF.
- Solution: Go back to the estimate file, add at least one line item, and then re-export and re-upload the file.
- Note: For information on permanently deleting or zeroing out an estimate, see the Deleting an Estimate article.
