Getting Started
Configuring your email settings for DASH is a pre-requisite for using the email systems within DASH (ie emailing customers directly from job, receiving customer replies inside of DASH, etc.)
This article will walk you through the steps needed to configure your email settings.
Start Here
There are 3 ways that email settings can be configured for DASH. Please read through to determine which setup your company uses:
I. Use Your Own Email Client (Outlook, Yahoo, or GoDaddy)
- You can utilize existing email provider by logging in with your email provider's details.
- This works with services like Outlook (via OAuth), Yahoo, and GoDaddy.
- Outlook users use the OAuth feature for secure access.
- See the OAuth section below Outlook
- See the IMAP section for Yahoo or GoDaddy
II. Gmail Integration with Zoho (IMAP or POP3)
- If your company uses Gmail, you can connect it to Zoho by configuring your email settings through a Zoho account.
- This is due to Gmail's restrictive security measures for 3rd party integrations.
- See more info below in the Gmail section.
III. CoreLogic Email Service with Zoho (IMAP or POP3)
- Depending on your email service provider, CoreLogic may provide one to your company through Zoho Mail.
- Emails will be hosted under @dashstart.net or @mail.ngsapps.net domains.
- You can confirm by looking at other users in your account under Administration > Employee / Security Settings > Email Settings. Click Edit next to any user with enabled email settings to see if they have an @dashstart.net or @mail.ngsapps.net email under the User Information tab.
- See more info below on how to configure a new user with CoreLogic provided email services.
Outlook OAuth
OAuth ("Open Authorization") is a method of connecting Outlook to your DASH environment. This is an alternative method to the legacy IMAP setup which was previously used in DASH for Microsoft/Outlook email settings.
- Hover over Administration - located on the blue navigation ribbon in your DASH environment
- Click on Employee / Security Settings from the drop-down
- Locate the name from the list and click Edit
- Enter in your email address and name
- Click Switch to OAuth (if the button says "Switch to Basic Authentication" then OAuth is already enabled)
- Choose "Microsoft [IMAP]" from the email provider drop-down and click Save
- Upon clicking Save, a new tab should open in your browser prompting you to log into your Microsoft/Outlook email account
- Click "Sign in with Microsoft"
- Once you've successfully logged in, your Microsoft Outlook email account will be integrated with your DASH user account.
How do I enable SMTP in Outlook 365?
- Open the Microsoft 365 admin center and go to Users > Active users.
- Select the user, and in the popout that appears, click Mail.
- In the Email apps section, click Manage email apps.
- Verify the Authenticated SMTP setting: unchecked = disabled, checked = enabled.
This official guide from Microsoft should help with any additional questions regarding SMTP enabling. If you have an IT person or email provider admin with your company, they should also be able to assist.
Gmail with Zoho
If your company uses Gmail, you can connect it to Zoho by configuring your email settings through a Zoho account (free). This is due to Gmail's restrictive security measures for 3rd party integrations.
See the PDF guide attached at the bottom of the article for step-by-step guide on how to configure Zoho for Gmail integration with DASH. You will be required to reach to our Support team once you reach the Password field for the Incoming and Outgoing tabs. Contact us for further assistance.
