Temporary labor rates are missing / not syncing over from QuickBooks Desktop

Issue

  • Labor items are not syncing into DASH from QuickBooks Desktop (QBD)
  • Job costs missing from DASH

Cause

Disclaimer

This issue is different from temporary labor rates showing as $0. If the labor item itself is coming into DASH, but the rate shows $0, see this article - Temporary labor rates are showing as $0. This is also different from paychecks not syncing over from QuickBooks Desktop (QBD). Temporary Labor = Timesheets, whereas Labor = Paychecks, please reach out to a Support representative if you have any missing/un-synced paychecks.

There are a couple of potential reasons your temporary labor items are not coming over from QuickBooks Desktop:

Has payroll been run?

Has your company run payroll or synced over paychecks since that Temporary Labor/Timesheet was created in QuickBooks desktop? Temporary Labor (aka Timesheets) for employees should fall off all jobs in the DASH system whenever a paycheck syncs over. That Temp Labor item cannot be synced back over, and it should have been replaced by a paycheck.

If payroll was run, then your issue may be that your paychecks never synced over to replace the Temporary Labor (Timesheet) items. If you believe this to be the case, please contact our Support team via Live Chat or by phone at 866-769-7855.

Timesheets setup

Please check to see if the missing Timesheet(s) in QuickBooks Desktop were associated with the correct job. If they were associated with the incorrect job, you should be able to update the Timesheet in QBD to reflect the correct one. Once that change is made, open your DASH Account 3 console, and run a manual Export by clicking on "Export Now".

Payroll schedule

Sometimes your payroll and data entry schedule can cause issues. If a Timesheet is entered into QuickBooks Desktop after a paycheck has been generated but is dated before the Date for that paycheck, it will not sync over into DASH. Ensure that your Temporary Labor/Timesheets are being entered into QBD before the associated payroll is run.

Request a backdated sync

If you have followed the steps for the solutions listed above but are still having issues, please contact Support and reference this article to expedite your request. We may need to run a backdated sync on your DASH Account 3 console. You can contact us via Live Chat or by phone at 866-769-7855.
