Solution

This error typically occurs when you have multiple instances of QuickBooks Desktop open on your machine. Try the follow steps to resolve the issue: 

  1. Close down all instances of QB
    • Go to your PC start menu and type in Task Manager
    • Find all instances of the QB application and close them in the Task Manager
    • Try to run a test import or export to see if the popup occurs again
