  • How can I get my estimate into DASH through Vendor Exchange?

Answer

Securities

The ability to Import Estimates requires proper security access. To grant access to this feature: 1. Hover over Administration and click on Employee/Security Settings 2. Click Security or Group Security. Select the employee's name (or title) in the upper-right hand corner. 3. Expand Accounting > Estimates > check the box for Import Estimate.

Please note that in order to Import an estimate into DASH, you must first make sure that the integration with Xactimate is configured. This article will walk you through setting up the Xactimate integration, Vendor Exchange. Once your integration is setup, you can start importing estimates using steps below.

  1. First, navigate to your Project in Xactimate and open it up.
  2. Once inside the project, expand Tools and select Vendor Exchange.
  3. Next, click the plus "+" icon next to DASH.
  4. Fill in applicable information in the pop up window that appears--your customer # will be the same as your DASH company ID.
  5. The next step depends on whether you are using X1 Desktop or Xactimate Online:
    1. If you're using Xactimate Online, once you Save and Exit, syncing will happen automatically.
    2. If you're in X1 (desktop), you'll need to click the green Sync button (top right-hand corner of window) in order to manually start the syncing process.
  6. Now switch over to DASH and navigate to the job you wish to import your estimate into.
  7. Once you are on the job slideboard, scroll down to the Accounting Information quadrant and click Import Estimate.

  8. Ensure that Xactware is selected from the Assignment Type dropdown.
  9. Click Next.
  10. Select the radio button for Original or Revision. Then select the Estimate Type (Main, Supplemental, or Change Order).
  11. Add in a Final Draft if desired.

Final Drafts are convenient for any internal parties who wish to view the Estimate without accessing Xactimate. You can export a Final Draft PDF from Xactimate.
  12. If you do not see your Estimate listed under the Suggested tab, try searching for it under Other.

  13. Once you've located the Estimate, click on it to select it.
  14. Add or remove any checkboxes for additional taxes, deductible, etc.

  15. Click Import to bring the estimate into DASH.
