Can QuickBooks Online sync over job costs for inactive users?

Question

If a user / employee is inactive in DASH, does their QuickBooks Online (QBO) job costs and time data still sync from QBO > DASH?

Answer

Yes. Their data will sync even if they are marked as Inactive in DASH. There are some scenarios where you may see an inactive employee in DASH:

For employee's time data to sync between QBO and DASH it is necessary for a matching employee to exist in both systems. As an update for 2021, employees who do not exist in DASH will be synced over from QBO. This will create a new employee within DASH but they will be in an inactive status, meaning they cannot be assigned anything.
Even though inactive, time can still sync from QBO to DASH for job cost tracking purposes.

To make a newly synced employee active, access their incomplete profile within Administration > Employee to edit and make the changes necessary to save and activate their employee profile. Required fields such as User Name, Address Information, and Email will be marked with a red asterisk.
