Issue
- Receiving a pop up error when using DASH Account 2
- This error occurs when using DASH Account 2 - "Could not connect to the Next Gear server. Please wait for a minute and re-run or contact Next Gear Support if the problem persists. A network related instance specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL server is configured to allow remote connections ... error 40"
Solution
A couple of things can cause this error message:
- Invalid Password: One of the most common causes is an invalid password. Ensure that the password you entered in your DA2 console is the same one you use to log into your DASH environment.
- IP Address update: The next common issue is that your IP address needs to be updated on our end.
- Why does this occur? Your IP address can change if you switch internet providers, are using a VPN, or are working from a new location. It can also be updated by your internet service provider intermittently as well. Some internet service providers update your IP address more often than others.
- Please Google search "what is my IP address?" and so that you can provide it to our Support team
- Reach out to our Support team and provide the following information:
- IP address
- Company ID
- Request an "IP Safelist"
